In #Trending I’ll highlight and offer my opinions on any comic-related news that occurred during the week. This will included news about comic books, comic-related movies, tv shows, video games, etc. I’ll also give a shout-out to some favourite comic blog entries and have a social media section involving Twitter. This week’s edition is still a little light due to the holidays and not much happening because of them. Let’s begin:

NEWS

Peter DavidLegendary comic writer Peter David (X-Factor) suffered a stroke last weekend. His wife reports: “He has lost most of the use of his right arm, his right leg is incredibly weak, the vision in his right eye is blurry, and the right side of his face is drooping slightly. But the brain is there with all its quips and quick retorts. He has had the nurses laughing a lot.” You are in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery.

Star-Lord Casting RumorsIt seems a day can’t go by without someone else being “reported” to be testing for the role of Star-Lord. Who knew he was such an in-demand character to play. The list of rumoured actors trying out for the role include one who is already cast in the Thor sequel, Zachery Levi (Chuck), two former DC character actors, Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises), and Jim Sturgess (Cloud Atlas). Quite a line-up and a story that continues to develop.

Amalgam of WaynesOne Batman fan decided to combine the faces of every modern actor that has portrayed the character in order to create the perfect Bruce Wayne in his mind. The man above is formed from the faces of Adam West, Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, and Christian Bale. Don’t ask me why someone decided to do this, but the results are here for any that care.

PiratingThe Top 10 Most Pirated Movies were released this past week and two of the ten belong to comic-based movies. The two on there are no surprise (The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises) but what is truly surprising is the number one movie (Project X). To see the complete list go HERE and for those that “got” the image for this blurb, I commend you. For those that didn’t, it’s DC Super-Villain Psycho Pirate…
