Monday Musings 03/04/13

Welcome one and all to Monday Musings!

Monday Musings serves multiple purposes:

1. I’ll update everyone to changes in relation to the blog including new features, modified formats to existing ones, and anything else blog-related.
2. I’ll reveal the character I’m going to feature in my Character Spotlight article this week.
3. I’ll gather up the links to all the blog postings that I’ve made since last week’s Monday Musings
4. I’ll reveal my Top 3 Comics of the Week though I won’t tell you which one finishes first, second, third until the actual article comes out (got to give you all a reason to check it out)
5. I’ll reveal what issues I’ll be reviewing in each part of Bullet Points.

Blog Updates

Version 1.0 of The Comic Connection debuted just a few hours ago. Look for a new entry every Friday though the format may be tweaked slightly. Other than that, nothing new to report.

  1. Another 2 writers left DC because of clashes with editors:

    http://ifanboy.com/articles/dc-loses-another-writer-before-they-start-andy-diggle-leaves-action-comics/
    http://comicsbeat.com/fialkov-leaving-green-lantern-corps-and-red-lanterns/

Fialkov is a rising star, so his loss is a terrible blow for DC. Especially because, as the second article points out, he just decided to join DC’s rival company.
It stuns me that DC lost innumerous artists in the last months, all because of the same problem, and they still didn’t solve it. Why don’t they just fire their trouble-making editors, or tell them to stop causing all these dramas? It’s a terrible damage to their public image. What do you think about it?

    • A real shame as I was looking forward to both their runs. I was even going to pick up Red Lanterns but I guess I can forget that. This is starting to get out of hand and DC better quickly fix their current “attitude” or else no matter of band-aids could fix this leaky ship. It sad that it seems like one of these articles comes out at least once every two weeks… 😦 Just let the guys/gals tell the type of stories they want to tell!
