On The Radar: Comic Book Coming Attractions 04/03/13

Radar

In this feature I’ll highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

All-New X-Men #10
All New X-Men #10
Creative Team
Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez
Solicitation
“The Uncanny X-Men come to the Jean Grey School to recruit. Who will join Cyclops and his revolutionary crew? The answer will shock you! Mystique and Sabretooth continue to hatch their master plan and it doesn’t bode well for the All-New X-Men.”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
One of the Original 5 is going to betray his/her friends with my money personally being on Warren. Regardless, it looks like it’s going to be a turning point for this series and I wonder if anyone else is going to join the new recruit? The continuing plotting of Mystique has also grabbed my attention as I look forward to another x-cellent issue.

Earth 2 #11
Earth 2 #11
Creative Team
James Robinson, Nicola Scott, and Trevor Scott
Solicitation
“As Dr Fate emerges as the latest hero on Earth 2, what other heroes make a most unexpected appearance?”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
This series has swung upwards in quality and it looks like Dr. Fate is finally going to accept his destiny. The talk of some heroes making an unexpected appearance has my mind racing as to who they could be. The build-up has been great, the payoff looks to be awesome, and the mystery is certainly enticing!

Green Arrow #19
Green Arrow #19
Creative Team
Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino
Solicitation

“What startling secret is revealed on the island that gave Green Arrow birth?”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
With just two issues, this new creative team has revitalized this series and made me forget about the horrible Nocenti issues that preceded them. Promises of a startling revelation in regards to Oliver’s history coupled with what is assured to be more stellar art makes me grateful that DC finally gave Green Arrow the series he deserved. Can’t have Marvel’s archer hog all the glory can we?

Mind The Gap #9
Mind The Gap #9 (Cover A - Esquejo)
Creative Team
Jim McAnn and Rodin Esquejo
Solicitation
“‘WISH YOU WERE HERE,’ Part Four. A loss of life! A loss of innocence! A terrifying return! Actions are taken and consequences are so far reaching in this SILENT issue that will have you holding your breath & leave you speechless.”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
When have you ever read a silent issue that didn’t wow you? I personally have never encountered one that didn’t and this one won’t break the trend. Silence is golden!

Superior Spider-Man #7
Superior Spider-Man #7
Creative Team

Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos
Solicitation
“‘Troubled Mind’ Part 1. An Avenger no more? With the public at large realizing this is no longer a ‘Friendly Neighborhood’ Spider-Man, and in light of his actions in recent events, will the Avengers kick Spidey off the team? Plus the return of Cardiac! And a new development for a Spider-Man who hasn’t been seen for some time. And by time, we mean centuries. The lead up to the Spider-Event of the Summer STARTS HERE!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Spider-Man VS the Avengers! Their confrontation, be it physical or verbal, should produce entertaining results. Cardiac returns! God, I haven’t seen him in forever. What prompts his return? A tease of Spider-Man 2099? A new Spider-Event? What more could you want?
