The Edge: Week 27 – The 300th Post

theEdge

I delayed this week’s edition of The Edge after I saw that I was fast approaching my 300th post. If I keep it up, by the time this Blog reaches its one year anniversary (October 4) I’ll have over a years worth of postings, something I’m quite proud of. As I always do in these hallmark postings, I’d like to thank all those that support me and this blog. Without your readership and your comments things just wouldn’t be the same. I appreciate it all and I want you to know that. As far as my progress on my “get on track” initiative here’s what remains: The Rankings (2), The Time Capsule (2), The Comic Connection (1), and Covers of the Week (1). If I can get that number down to 2 by the time the next edition of The Edge comes out I’ll be pretty happy. Until then…Happy Reading!

  1. These are the comic books I read in January 2014:

    Justice League of America’s Vibe # 1 – 2
    Detective Comics # 481
    Bullet to the Head # 1 – 6
    The Phantom Stranger # 6
    Animal Man # 19
    Katana # 10
    Witchblade # 171
    Lex Luthor: The Unauthorized Biography
    Detective Comics # 27
    Daredevil # 26
    Thunderbolts # 9 – 10
    Detective Comics # 683 – 684
    Detective Comics # 583 – 584

Lex Luthor: The Unauthorized Biography gets the gold medal; The Phantom Stranger # 6 gets the silver one and is my favorite new comic book of the month.
Bullet to the Head # 1 – 6 gets only the bronze medal, but believe man, that miniseries is pure awesomeness – and the movie is even better.
January 2014 has been the month during which I gained most followers ever (58). The 3rd week of January was my best week ever (358 visits).
Despite these 2 positive records, January 2014 isn’t my best month ever as a blogger: I got 1024 visits, so my old record (1161 visits in September 2013) is still unbeaten.
What about you? Did your 2014 have a good start?

    • “Lex Luthor: The Unauthorized Biography gets the gold medal”
That one sounds interesting. Never heard of this before. Was it an original graphic novel or was it originally a mini-series? I wonder if it is still in print?

      “Detective Comics # 27”
      Volume 1 or Volume 2? 🙂

Looking at your pull-list as a whole, its going to be getting mighty empty here in the coming months…

Oh but that was really close. 2nd best month ever?

“Did your 2014 have a good start?”
It was alright. A pretty middle of the road month but higher than December’s numbers.

      • “Was it an original graphic novel or was it originally a mini-series?” It’s a one – shot published by DC in 1989. I got it last year at a convention. I can’t believe I left it dusting on my shelves for 2 entire months before I finally decided to pick it up and give it a shot.
“Volume 1 or Volume 2?” If I owned Detective Comics # 27 Volume 1, I would be a very satisfied collectionist! : ) Detective Comics # 27 Volume 2 is not as precious, but it’s been a nice read.
“Looking at your pull-list as a whole, its going to be getting mighty empty here in the coming months…” Until I can read Green Arrow, Daredevil, The Punisher and some Bat – stories each month, I’m ok with it.
“2nd best month ever?” Exactly! And the visitors were almost the same: 325 in September 2013, 324 in January 2014.
“A pretty middle of the road month but higher than December’s numbers.” Congrats! : )
