Guardians of the Galaxy finally unleashed its first trailer and as has been the trend with any big announcement of this movie being made, The Speech Bubble surged in its normal views. The reason? People want to know more about this property, exploring the characters that are gearing up to treat us on the big screen. Fun fact: my all-time most popular posting ever is my Character Spotlight on Star-Lord with it having 2.5 times as many views as my second place feature and 6 times as many views as my third place feature. In fact, seven of my Top 10 features ever are Character Spotlight in nature with Star-Lord’s fellow Guardians teammate Drax coming in at 5th Place. With Guardians of the Galaxy coming out in August, I’ve made the decision that I just have to round out the whole team so once I’m caught up on Off The Shelf and Covers of the Week I’ll be devoting my resources on doing entries for Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot. Time permitting I might also do some Spotlights on the two villains of the movie, Nebula and Ronan, as well. For those of you that are curious, here’s the full rankings of all my Character Spotlight features so far:
1. Issue #6: Star-Lord (Peter Quill) (Overall 1st Place)
2. Issue #9: Deathstroke (Slade Wilson) (Overall 2nd Place)
3. Issue #2: Scarlet Spider (Ben Reilly) (Overall 3rd Place)
4. Issue #10: Arthur Douglas (Drax The Destroyer) (Overall 5th Place)
5. Issue #1: The Huntress (Helena Bertinelli) (Overall 6th Place)
6. Issue #5: Firefly (Garfield Lynns) (Overall 8th Place)
7. Issue #4: Doctor Octopus (Otto Octavius) (Overall 9th Place)
8. Issue #8: Agent 13 (Sharon Carter) (Overall 13th Place)
9. Issue #3: Ocean Master (Orm) (Overall 30th Place)
10. Issue #7: Count Vertigo (Werner Vertigo) (Overall 34th Place)
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to watch the trailer for the tenth time…

On that note, this week’s offering of Between The Continuity has reached its end. I hope everyone has an excellent week and manages to read some great stuff. Until next time, I leave you with three words that sum up this blog and life in general:
Good to see there’s a lot a buzz around Guardians. Ooh you beat me, I think I’ve only watched the trailer nine times. 😉
The more positive buzz that this movie can generate the more hope I have that Marvel’s biggest risk will be rewarded. Then they may be open for riskier properties in the future!
Could you share with us your Overall Top 10?
The remaining entries of my Top 10 are:
4th Place: #Trending In The World Of Comics: 02/08/13-02/14/13
7th Place: Retroactive: Detective Comics 1939 & Amazing Spider-Man 1963
10th Place: “Let’s Settle Down Before You Crash A Tornado On Us And We End Up In OZ”: Bullet Points Part 2 – Marvel Comic Reviews 11/14/12
The main reason that entry of #Trending ranks so high is due to continual searches for Emily Bett Rickards. As for that Marvel Comic review one, the only guess I have is because of the use of OZ in the title?
You’re probably right. Thank you for your reply! : )
