“A Case of Vertigo, Marvelous Debuts, & Seeing The (Star)Light” – The Top 5 & Comic Book Rankings: 03/05/14-03/11/14

Rankings

Welcome all to my Weekly Ranking System! In the first section, I’ll highlight the Top 5 individual issues from this past week that deserve to be picked up, in alphabetical order. Then the second section breaks up all the different series into three groups (DC, Marvel, & Independent). I will include a summary section in each entry to comment on any changes in spots. A reminder, only comics that I purchase are included in the Rankings.

  1. These are the comics I read in January 2015:

    Green Arrow # 37
    The Punisher # 13
    Animal Man # 27 – 28
    The Phantom Stranger # 17
    Superior Foes of Spider – Man # 16 – 17
    Moon Knight # 10
    AXIS Carnage # 3
    X # 20

Animal Man # 28 is the best read of the month.
Apart from the 2 final issues of Superior Foes, all the Marvel comics I read last month were a complete waste of money and time. I hope this won’t become a trend, because I love Marvel, and generally speaking I’m satisfied with the comics they release.
January 2015 was my best month ever as a blogger. I didn’t think it was possible to get over 3k visits in a single month, but unexpectedly I made it: I got 3060 visits. I think it happened because I published 3 posts, instead of just 1 or 2 as I usually do.
My last post wasn’t as successful as the previous ones, but I expected that, because I reviewed a completely unknown movie, Buck and the Preacher. That movie was simply awesome.
What about you? Was January a good month for you as a blogger and as a reader?

Wow. I cannot believe you uttered that statement especially since a Punisher title was on your list. I’ve fallen behind on my reading so I haven’t read that issue yet. What was so bad about it?

Now that is a way to start 2015! Congratulations. For me, January was my best January ever and places Third Overall.

Here’s to an even more successful February and hopefully a month filled with better reads for you. 🙂

      • “What was so bad about it?” It was entirely focused on some supporting characters of the series (Frank didn’t appear at all): all of them are terribly boring, and this is why the issue didn’t work. You can’t do a Punisher issue without the Punisher, even a 3 years old child would understand that.
“Here’s to an even more successful February and hopefully a month filled with better reads for you.” I wish you the same thing.
Thank you for your reply, and congratulations to you as well! 🙂
