Rankings

Welcome all to my Weekly Ranking System! In the first section, I’ll highlight the Top 5 individual issues from this past week that deserve to be picked up, in alphabetical order. Then the second section breaks up all the different series into three groups (DC, Marvel, & Independent). I will include a summary section in each entry to comment on any changes in spots. A reminder, only comics that I purchase are included in the Rankings.

  1. These are the comic books I read in November 2014:

    Luke Cage Noir TP
    Nightwing Annual # 1
Concrete Park Vol. 1: You Send Me
    Superman/Wonder Woman # 12
    Green Arrow # 35
    Witchblade # 178
    The Fade – Out # 2
    The Punisher # 11
    Gotham Academy # 1
    Gilbert Hernandez, “Loverboys”
    Superboy Vol. 4 # 96
    Wolverine & Jubilee # 1 – 4
    X # 18
Moon Knight Vol. 1: From the Dead
    Superior Foes of Spider – Man # 13 – 15
    Moon Knight # 7 – 8
    Batman Eternal # 26 – 28
    Swamp Thing # 28
    The Phantom Stranger # 16
    Blacksad: Amarillo
Terminator: Enemy of my enemy # 6
    AXIS: Carnage # 1
    Deathstroke # 1

Of course the 1st trade of Concrete Park is the best read of the month. It will take years before I read a comic book that can match its beauty – and maybe I never will.
Terminator: Enemy of my enemy # 6 wins the silver medal: a great conclusion for a great miniseries. No surprise that it was published by Dark Horse.
AXIS: Carnage # 1 gets the bronze medal. Not only because I love the character, but also because this issue was full ot clever ideas and black humour, and I deeply appreciated it.
November 2014 was my 2nd best month ever as a blogger: I had 2319 visits! I also got 97 new followers.
What about you? Was November 2014 a good month for you as a reader and as a blogger?

Even before reading your list I knew this was going to be your crown jewel of the month. For a comic to elicit such an emotional response, how could you not have given it its due?

Taking a look at the rest of your titles, the biggest shocker for me is Terminator capturing second against all those other series. All too often a mini can start out awesome and lose its steam towards the end. It is good to hear that Dark Horse employed the right people to deliver a more then satisfying conclusion.

First of all, congratulations on the successful month. With all these visits to your blog this year you must be on track or maybe even have already broken your all-time yearly record? For me, November was my 3rd best month overall, just missing 2nd place by 16 fewer views. It was also my 7th month in a row where I beat 2013’s totals. 🙂

      • “Taking a look at the rest of your titles, the biggest shocker for me is Terminator capturing second against all those other series.” Yeah, this month I had to make very difficult choices when I formed my podium. I’m really sad that some high quality comics like Luke Cage Noir and Moon Knight didn’t get any medal.
“All too often a mini can start out awesome and lose its steam towards the end.” Speaking of miniseries, yesterday I ordered the trade of Hawkeye vs. Deadpool because of your good word.
“With all these visits to your blog this year you must be on track or maybe even have already broken your all-time yearly record?” The old yearly record was 5711 views got in 2013. This year I had already broken this record in June. 🙂 At present I had 18843 views in 2014.

Awesome. I hope you enjoy it once it releases and I’m honored you’d try it out on my word. I’m crossing my fingers that the final two issues don’t disappoint. 🙂

Wow! Very good news indeed. To more than triple your previous year is quite an achievement. I myself am forecasting roughly a 25% increase from 2013, though that percentage may be a little bit more depending on how December goes.
