Radar

In this feature I’ll highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

Five Weapons #8
Five Weapons #8

Creative Team

Jimmie Robinson
Solicitation
“‘BACK TO CLASS,’ Part Three Enrique hits bottom. He’s facing expulsion and the loss of his girlfriend, but he’s not defeated. As Tyler gloats over his victory, Enrique finds new hope from an unexpected friend when Principal O returns!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Five Weapons is awesome. If you enjoy a fun series, you need to check it out. If you enjoy a witty series, you need to check it out. If you enjoy a series filled with unexpected twists, you need to check it out. Simply put: you need to check it out!

Justice League #29
Justice League #29

Creative Team
Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis
Solicitation

“The Crime Syndicate couldn’t kill him, but will Grid destroy him? Cyborg heads directly for the Syndicate with the Metal Men at his side. Can Vic Stone stop his cybernetic half? And how will this battle against the most brutal and evil beings in the universe change Cyborg and the Justice League?”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Geoff Johns’ take on the Metal Men was brilliant so I eagerly await more from these newly repackaged characters. As Forever Evil races to its conclusion, this issue will act as the last sign post before the end.

Smallville Season 11: Lantern #1
Smallville Season 11 Lantern #1 (of 4)
Creative Team
Bryan Q. Miller and Marcio Takara
Solicitation
“The Green Lantern ring for space sector 2813 was inactive for years after Krypton’s end, until the creation of the Argo colony recalled it to service. As none of Zod’s followers are suitable candidates, the ring’s search brings it to the nearest Kryptonian it can recruit! SMALLVILLE SEASON 11 continues in ‘Lantern’ part 1 of 4!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
The last big DC hero that hasn’t appeared finally debuts in the pages of Smallville as the Green Lantern Corps make their debut. Clark being chosen to wield a ring is a great twist and I can’t wait to see Mr. Miller’s take on the Green Lantern mythos as a whole.

Superior Spider-Man #31
Superior Spider-Man #31
Creative Team
Dan Slott and Giuseppe Camuncoli
Solicitation
“SERIES FINALE! The end of an era! A tale of triumph and tragedy! The GREEN GOBLIN unmasked! A hero reborn! But what does this mean for OTTO OCTAVIUS?! There’s only one man who can save us from the Goblin Nation . . . PETER PARKER: The one, true SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
It is with great sadness that we have reached the conclusion of this series that everyone wanted to hate but in the end won a lot of people over. The previous issue was epic and emotional and this one looks to tie up all the loose ends as we race to an “Amazing” relaunch. My main question: just who will they reveal to be the Green Goblin? I’m highly anticipating the answer to that and more.

Wonder Woman #30
Wonder Woman #30
Creative Team
Brian Azzarello and Goran Sudzuka
Solicitation
“Wonder Woman, the God of War, takes command of the deadliest army ever! The Amazons are back, and they have some scores to settle!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
War has arrived as the Amazons and the First Born’s forces look to engage in battle. The culmination of Azzarello’s run is coming to a head as I countdown the moments before the epic final battle between two equally powerful foes.

  1. I’m picking up Batman 30, Supergirl 30, Witchblade 174, Ms. Marvel 3, Superior Spider-Man 31 (might also be my most anticipated title), Thor: God of Thunder 21 (Might be my last issue, even though I’ve been enjoying the title), Uncanny X-Men 20, X-Force 3 and X-Men 13.

I haven’t decided whether I’m picking up Amazing X-Men 6 and Hulk 1 or not.
