And I’m back! Fan Expo 2014 was great though I would have preferred it not be on Easter Long Weekend. I’m pretty tired from the events but you should look forward to my highlights of the event in the next few days. Now that preparations for and the actual Expo have passed I can once again shift my focus to this blog which is sadly not doing too well. Looking at the numbers, I’m on track for one of my worst months of all-time and it has caused me to take a hard look at everything and make some decisions. So just like the DC relaunch and Marvel’s All-New initiative, The Speech Bubble is about to undergo a metamorphosis.
What does this mean? Well for starters, I’m going to start fresh. Covers of the Week, Off The Shelf, and #Trending will be current. I still plan on revisiting those past Covers of the Week features and Off The Shelf entries though. I’m also going to be bidding adieu to some other features that just aren’t nailing it in regards to the views. Around The Web will be torn apart and its various parts will be absorbed into most likely #Trending and the Comic-Verse. A longer term feature is also going to be transformed: Rankings. My comic book Rankings will now have a permanent section as a constantly updating page on the front of the blog, right underneath the ABOUT link while my Top 5 comics portion of the Rankings will actually form into a more fleshed out feature as I have a feeling that is the part that is getting the views as is.
These are just the start of what is coming in this All-New era. There is also going to be some tweaks to existing features and some new ones as well including a weekly series entitled Going Rogue. I’m also going to try to focus on promoting this blog better in other avenues to increase the readership with an aim to also nail some new guest postings and perhaps…even more. The journey begins anew. To everyone that has supported me since this blog’s initial days, to those that have travelled with me in the last year, and to those that have just discovered The Speech Bubble, I thank you and hope you’re ready for what is to come!
