As I gear up for the return of some features that have fallen by the wayside next week (#Trending, Off The Shelf, Covers of the Week, etc.), I thought now was a good time to reflect and analyze my stats so far to better help me going forward. First let’s look at the statistics:

Analysis
8 of my Top 10 are Character Spotlight features which assures me that my Going Rogue feature (debuting next week) should prove beneficial indeed. Will it have as much of a longevity as the Character Spotlight features is the main question but one that will become moot once I have time to devote to starting up the feature again. The other 2 features in my Top 10 are the very first Retroactive and an edition of #Trending. Retroactive is always a popular feature and has one more appearance in my Top 20 while #Trending has two more appearances. With #Trending’s return next week we’ll see if the feature holds up with its new format. Rounding out the rest of the Top 20 are 4 old Comic Review features, two Guest Postings, and a special feature on the Artifice. More comic reviews are always something I really want to do but can never find the time and more guest postings are always welcome. The real surprise of the Top 20 has to belong to the Artifice feature though.

19. Retroactive: Detective Comics 1939 & Amazing Spider-Man 1963
20. #Trending In The World Of Comics: 02/15/13-02/21/13
Analysis
Looking at the Top 10, the first four entries remain the same but the rest consist of 2 Character Spotlights, 2 old Comic Reviews, and 2 Guest Postings. The second half of the Top 20 features 3 Character Spotlights, 5 editions of Retroactive, a #Trending, and that Artifice feature. What this tells me is that the decision to expand Retroactive to three features has definitely brought more views overall this past year and the positioning of those Guest Postings is all the more impressive.

Retroactive dominates as it possesses 11 Spots including 4 in the Top 10. Other Stats
My Top 5 Referrers are WordPress, Twitter, Arousing Grammar, Reddit, and Let Us Nerd. Barely missing the cut is Facebook which is pretty impressive since I do zero Facebook promotion and most surprising is Reddit as I’m not even a member of it. Once everything is motoring on like a well oiled machine here, I’ll kick it into high gear with the promotion and utilizing these two untapped sources will be a pick to-do for sure. I’d also like to thank the individuals that run Arousing Grammar and Let Us Nerd for all the hits as well.
My Top 5 Sites that my viewers go to from my blog are Twitter, Arousing Grammar, Sci-Fi Jubilee, House of Flying Scalpels, and a tie between Sidekick Reviews and Modern Mythologies with xmenxpert just behind.
My Top 5 Search Terms are “star lord”, “top 3”, “drax the destroyer”, “spotlight”, and “emily bett rickards hot”. People sure do love Felicity from Arrow!
Finally my Top 5 Countries are Italy (thanks to wwayne especially), the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and France.
The big thing I take away from this is that my recent decisions are a step in the right direction but there is still room for improvement in numerous areas. That and maybe I should give the Artifice another chance. Maybe…

This is my last week to get all my ducks in a row before next week where I try to bring back numerous features from the past according to my schedule that I posted on the last edition of Between The Continuity.
________________________________________________________
On that note, this week’s offering of Between The Continuity has reached its end. I hope everyone has an excellent week and manages to read some great stuff. Until next time, I leave you with three words that sum up this blog and life in general:
“emily bett rickards hot” – yep she’s a very popular gal isn’t she? I figured out that if I tag images with “hot” or “naked” it gets a lot of views. 🙂 I think Going Rogue is going to be a hit feature.
Yeah its funny. I didn’t tag her pic as hot but one of the sentences I wrote about her was “First of all, hot off the heels of being picked up for a second season, CW’s hit new show Arrow announced that the character of Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) would become a series regular next season.” Her name + hot off the heels leads Google search engines here. 🙂
Thanks for the mention! I’m really glad that Italy became one of the Top 5 Countries thanks to me. How many visits do you get from Italy each month, more or less?
I range anywhere from 400-700 views from Italy each month. Lately the United States has been my #1 country. I take it that Italy is your #1 country for views but what is your #2 for your blog?
Bronze medal: Canada (272 views from 25/02/2012 – I don’t know why WordPress chose that date as the starting point)
Silver medal: United States (1.466)
Gold medal: Italy (10.291)
Thanks for the info! : )
Thanks for sharing.
