I’m honestly floored by what has happened this past week on The Speech Bubble.
I started my social media outreach program by launching my Facebook page and signing up for StumbleUpon, Reddit, and Pintrest. This was my opening salvo with a renewed focus on Twitter and other areas coming soon as well. Facebook is quite an uphill battle as I quickly realized etching out a spot on that platform is going to be quite time-consuming and quite challenging. I shared my first article of StumbleUpon and Pintrest to test the waters with zero results. Again it will be something to build overtime. Then came Reddit…and all I have to say is WOW!
I posted a link to this past week’s edition of Retroactive starring The Flash & the Uncanny X-Men and what occurred was nothing short of unbelievable as the Speech Bubble not only broke but shattered the previous record for most single day views ever. Now Reddit is a platform where you can share your own personal links 2-3 times a week and is also about furthering discussion in a myriad of areas including comics. With this in mind I cautiously bided my time, commenting in other postings to support the community which had responded so well to what I put out. After three days passed I decided it was time to see if this was a mere blip on the radar or possibly the start of something truly wonderful. I posted my Retroactive feature on Legends of the Dark Knight & Daredevil and the response was not the same as the first time…it was even better.
Once again I eclipsed the brand-new single day view record! In fact the use of Reddit combined with the amount of hits I’ve been getting on my Character Spotlight of Star-Lord has already made this month in 11 short days overcome my entire monthly totals of 4 of the past 7 months. Reddit is definitely where it is at and I’m going to continue to put a greater focus on growing and commenting over there to transition that over to the Speech Bubble. I can barely contain my excitement!

On that note, this week’s offering of Between The Continuity has reached its end. I hope everyone has an excellent week and manages to read some great stuff. Until next time, I leave you with three words that sum up this blog and life in general:
That’s awesome news man! I haven’t explored Reddit much but it’s good to know it’s a great social media platform for you and potentially for me too. 🙂
Yes. I think you’d fit right in and benefit from it as well.
Yeah, it sounds like Reddit may be worth looking into.
For sure. I was filled with trepidation about plunging in but all in all its been a great experience.
Face book can take a while to get going, especially when you first start a page, but I found it picked up over time. I still find Twitter is my main focus, and my favorite overall. I’ve heard a lot about Reddit and from what you say it sounds the thing to check out. Still have no idea how it really works, but might give it a look now after reading this edition of Between the Continuity.
Well it is nice to hear that I’m not the only one that had difficulty starting on Facebook. Thanks for sharing.
I still don’t really understand how facebook pages work that much, it takes a little while, but I found it picked up after a while. Still prefer Twitter overall as its more interactive. Reddit sounds good though, might have to check that out as well.
