On The Radar: Comic Book Coming Attractions 08/20/14

Radar

It is time once again to highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

The Delinquents #1
Delinquents #1 (of 4) Blank Cover

James Asmus and Kano

“Confrontation! Devastation! Inebriation! (And the lost secret of the hobos too!) Oh dear god no, you’d better get out of the way…because here come the Delinquents! Quantum and Woody are the world’s worst superhero team. Archer and Armstrong are a mismatched pair of conspiracy-busting adventurers. When a mysterious force collides these ill-suited and irresponsible ‘heroes’ for a cross-country race through the darkest corners of American mythology, all hell is bound to break loose. Can two busted pairs become four of kind in time to defeat the Hobo King, save the day, and make it back home in time for Happy Hour? Let’s hope so…’cause these guys make a really, really bad team. (And you don’t even want to know about the goat.)”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Quantum & Woody ended its run as my #1 Overall Independent Comic and I was saddened to see it go. Well now they are back and they’ve brought along two other characters whom I know nothing about: Archer & Armstrong. Regardless, I expect this book to contain the usual hijinks, humor, and heart that Quantum & Woody did.

Ms. Marvel #7
Ms Marvel #7
Creative Team
C. Willow Wilson and Jake Wyatt
Solicitation

“IT’S WOLVERINE!  Kamala may be fan-girling out when her favorite (okay maybe Top Five) super hero shows up for some help, but that won’t stop her from protecting her hometown. Who is the Inventor, and what does he want with Kamala and all her friends? Maybe Wolvie can be of some help. ‘If you’re not reading Ms. Marvel, you’re missing out on one of the best series out there.’ –Says Almost Everybody ”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
It is time for Part 2 of the superhero team-up for the ages: Kamala and Wolverine. The first part was awesome and I’m sure the follow-up will be just as if not even more awesome than that. This series is so good and everyone deserves to give it a shot!

Multiversity #1
Multiversity #1
Creative Team

Grant Morrison and Ivan Reis
Solicitation

Join visionary writer Grant Morrison, today’s most talented artists, and a cast of unforgettable characters from 52 alternative Earths of the known DC Multiverse! Prepare to meet the Vampire League of Earth-43, the Justice Riders of Earth-18, Superdemon, Doc Fate, the super-sons of Superman and Batman, the rampaging Retaliators of Earth-8, the Atomic Knights of Justice, Dino-Cop, Sister Miracle, Lady Quark, the legion of Sivanas, the Nazi New Reichsmen of Earth-10 and the latest, greatest Super Hero of Earth-Prime: YOU! Comprising six complete adventures – each set in a different parallel universe – plus a two-part framing story and a comprehensive guidebook to the many worlds of the Multiverse, THE MULTIVERSITY is more than just a multipart comic-book series. It’s a cosmos spanning, soul-shaking experience that puts YOU on the frontline in the Battle for All Creation against the demonic destroyers known as the Gentry! In issue #1, pencilled by superstar artist Ivan Reis (AQUAMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE), President Superman of Earth-23 uncovers a threat to all Reality so apocalyptic it will take a team of incredible heroes from across the Multiverse to face it – including Captain Carrot, like you’ve never seen him before! But even with a multitude of alternate worlds to choose from, where every variation is possible, can anyone hope to prevail against the onslaught of ultimate evil and undying hatred – in the unstoppable form of a one-time cosmic defender with unimaginable powers?! Join us, if you dare, for the beginning of THE MULTIVERSITY!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Grant Morrison returns to the DC Universe with his years in the making Multiversity mini-series. Will the wait be worth it? Will we be blown away? Will we have a tough time figuring out what is going to happen? Yes, most likely, and most assuredly! It wouldn’t be a Morrison comic if he didn’t put our brains though the wringer, am I right?

Why I’m Looking Forward To It
I have a real good feeling that Deadpool will be featured in this issue and I do love me some Deadpool. I can’t wait to see what zaniness will ensue and how everything is going to play out. When the Merc With A Mouth is involved you know to expect the unexpected!

  1. Really looking forward to Grant Morrison’s return to the DC Universe with Multiversity as well, sounds really epic! Daredevil #7 is also on my list, brilliant title, and Batman Eternal #20 continues to impress with its engaging storyline.
