Superheroes

It is time for the best covers from the week that was. A quick reminder: only comics that I personally have purchased qualify for this piece. If a title contains more than one cover, only the one I own is taken into consideration. Now without further ado:

  1. My podium is:

Bronze medal: Harley Quinn # 9
    Silver medal: Batgirl # 34
Gold medal: Batman Eternal # 19

I’m really sorry that I didn’t give a better prize to Harley Quinn # 9. The question this cover raises (why is she winking at us while a cop is handcuffing her?) is so interesting that this cover probably would have won the gold medal in any other week. Unfortunately the 2 Bat – covers I mentioned are so beautiful from an aesthetic point of view that I really couldn’t exclude them from the highest spots of the podium.

I’m in total agreement with you. The line-up of covers was stellar this week. As for why she is winking, if you take a closer look at her hands it appears that she has the key to the cuffs in them. She’s breaking the fourth wall and letting us in on her plan which I really love.

      Thanks for sharing you Rankings!
