And here is the Cover of the Week by Mike Del Mundo who wins this distinction for the very first time. At the end of a great performance the spotlight shines on the star as she takes a bow, showered in the adoration of the audience. This cover takes that traditional scene and puts a twist on it. Instead of the light emanating from a spotlight we have the light put forth from a hovering helicopter, instead of just flowers lying at Elektra’s feet we also have the unconscious or deceased bodies of those who have run up against her. Elektra takes her bow having performed a dance of violence and death, an artistic display of her very own. The lighting creates a haunting yet beautiful atmosphere, the colouring is top-notch, and the use of shadows is brilliant. It is a cover worthy of the accolades and one that stands out from the rest as the clear-cut winner. With that said, Mike Del Mundo, I award you the first place crown this week. Congratulations!

So those are my favourites and it’s a four-to-one victory for Marvel over the Independents. What’s your personal favourite covers from the week that was? Comment below!
As you know, I fell in love with All New X – Factor # 14 from the first time I saw it, so this cover gets the gold medal.
Silver medal for Elektra # 6 and bronze medal for Edge of Spider – Verse # 2.
I knew this was going to be your #1 pick. I very nearly put it at 3rd but the awesomeness of Spider-Gwen could not be denied. Thanks for sharing your personal rankings.
P.S.: Speaking of All New X – Factor, here’s a news I read a few seconds ago: http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=55975. After Hawkeye, Thunderbolts and Superior Foes of Spider – Man, another Marvel series comes to an end. What’s going on?
Yeah I read about that earlier this week. I have a bad feeling that another quirky and excellent book I enjoy in the form of Secret Avengers will sadly be the next book to be cancelled… 😦
How did I miss that Electra cover? That’s spectacular. Personally, I’d have Edge of the Spider-Verse 2 (Gwen Stacey) as number 2 and Avengers or X-Factor as number 3, but Uncanny X-Men is at least worth an honorable mention.
It is mighty awesome indeed. If Bleeding Cool is to be believed, there sadly won’t be too many Elektra covers left though since the rumor is the series will be cancelled… 😦
