On The Radar: Comic Book Coming Attractions 10/22/14

Radar It is time once again to highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

Axis: Hobgoblin #1
Axis Hobgoblin #1 (of 3)

Creative Team
Kevin Shinick and Javier Rodriguez
Solicitation
“Roderick Kingsley, the one and only Original Hobgoblin is back in the suit (for real this time! We swear!) and back in New York with a brand new mission. Robot Chicken writer Kevin Shinick (Superior Carnage, Superior Spider-Man Team Up) and fan favorite artist Javier Rodriguez (Daredevil) team up to bring you a Hobgoblin book unlike any you’ve ever seen!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
The Hobgoblin is one of my favourite Spider-Man villains of all time so the prospect of him starring in his own series is nothing short of fantastic. Add that to the amazing artistic abilities of Javier and you get a win-win combination. Simply put, this is why I was looking forward to the whole AXIS event in the first place.

The Flash #35
Flash #35
Creative Team

Robert Venditti and Brett Booth
Solicitation

“It’s The Flash vs. Future Flash as these two super-speedsters battle for the fate of Wally West! Will a Flash die? ”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
The Futures End Flash issue was just one possibility of how this battle between Future and Present could turn out but now the time has come for the official outcome. Who will make it out alive? Can Barry hope to overcome his more experienced future self? I can’t wait to witness this titanic fight for the ages.

Harley Quinn #11
Harley Quinn #11
Creative Team

Amanda Conner and Chad Hardin
Solicitation
“Harley continues with her toxic Max Macabre relationship – but everything changes when Power Girl comes crashing into Coney Island from outer space! PG has a severe case of amnesia, and Harley is happy to remind her that they are best friends – and a crimefighting team!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Harley Quinn and Power Girl become a crime fighting team. Need I really say more?

She-Hulk #9
She-hulk #9
Creative Team

Charles Soule and Javier Pulido
Solicitation
“THE GOOD OLD DAYS, PART 2. It’s Jennifer Walters versus Matt Murdock in the trial of the century! Someone from Cap’s past has come back to haunt them all…and She-Hulk might be his only hope. Guest starring Steve Rogers and Daredevil.”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Let’s get our lawyer on! Jennifer VS Matt should prove to be way more entertaining than your regular superhero fist fight. A war of words with Steve Roger’s fate caught in the middle makes this the must see court case of the year!

TMNT/Ghostbusters #1
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ghostbusters #1 (of 4)
Creative Team

Erik Burnham and Dan Schoening
Solicitation
“When a new invention goes haywire, the Turtles are sent to a whole new type of New York City. One with a whole lot more ghosts… and Ghostbusters! The two teams will have to learn to get along quickly, because a new foe from the Turtles past has followed them and aims to conquer NYC! ”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Growing up I’ve always been a huge fan of the TMNT and Ghostbusters franchises. I watched the movies and animated TV shows, had the toys, and dressed up in costume. What we have here though is something I never thought possible: the Turtles and the Ghostbusters in the same comic! I can imagine it right now and come Wednesday what was mere fantasy will become reality!

    • All-New X-Factor: it keeps getting better and better. Too bad everyone else didn’t realize that in time and it will sadly only appear a few more times on your pull-list… 😦

      Thanks for sharing.

    • The art looks fantastic and the covers of each issue are really fun and eye-catching. I think we’re going to have it challenge for Covers of the Week every time it comes out.

  1. It’s a somewhat light week for me. I’m most anticipating The Logan Legacy 2 since X-23 is actually my favourite X-Men character (I’m likely not picking up the whole mini-series). There’s also All New X-Factor15 (shame that it’s getting cancelled), Amazing Spider-Man 8, Amazing X-Men 12, Cyclops 6, She Hulk 9, X-Force 11 and my only non-Marvel book of the week, Red Lanterns 35. I might pick up a few others, depending on how I feel.

Also, just putting the finishing touches on a special blog post of how I first got into comics.

    • All-New X-Factor ending is very sad indeed. I love what Peter David did with this latest volume and can’t believe that him writing X-Factor appears to be over after all these years.

As for Red Lanterns, I wonder how this book will survive once Soule is gone?

Regardless, thanks for sharing your pull-list. Have an awesome NCBD!
