“We got you a present, comics fans – a gut-busting (sometimes literally) collection of short stories featuring Harley and her special brand of holiday cheer! Can she get through Christmas dinner without blowing something up? Who will survive the war of the department-store Santas? Don’t miss this one – after all, you can’t spell ‘holidays’ without ‘Harley!’ (Give or take a couple letters.)”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
You had me at the mere mention of Darwyn Cooke.

“Rocket and Groot are the two best friends that anybody ever had. And they’re also amazing at killing really big alien things/saving the Galaxy!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
I’m starting to run out of new things to say about this series. Funny, quirky, and gorgeous art makes this series a can’t miss each and every time it comes out.

Thor #3
Thor #3

Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman
Solicitation
“Lifting the enchanted hammer Mjolnir has transformed a mysterious woman into an all-new version of the mighty Thor. But what happens when she’s separated from that hammer? Plus, Frost Giants! ROXXON! And oh yeah, whatever happened to the guy who used to carry that hammer?”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Three issues in and the mystery of who this all-new Thor is continues to deepen. Last issue ended with a bang and this one looks to pick-up where we left off. Can Thor hope to overcome the danger she faces without the use of Mjolnir? Her first real test begins here!

Uncanny X-Men Annual #1
Uncanny X-Men Annual #1
Creative Team

Brian Michael Bendis and Andrea Sorrentino
Solicitation
“THE SECRET LIFE OF EVA BELL–Part 1. Part one of the epic two-part tale of the time-manipulating mutant Eva Bell’s greatest secret. Losing control of her powers, Eva disappeared during a training exercise in Tabula Rasa. Reappearing shortly thereafter, she seemed older and far more weathered, but refused to offer an explanation. But where did her powers take her? Or maybe the better question is when? And what could she have endured to cause her to keep her story secret from her fellow X-Men?”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Ever since Eva mysteriously disappeared and reappeared months ago it has been sitting at the back of our minds about what truly happened to her. We’ve gotten hints and teases but the time has come to learn the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Part 1 will surely surprise us before Part 2 comes in to finish what is sure to be an epic tale.

  1. Bitch Planet, Deadpool’s Art of War, My Little Pony, Rocket Raccoon, UXM Annual, X-Force, X-Men.

Bitch Planet’s starting up! Woot! That should be awesome. Kelly Sue DeConnick’s take on Women In Prison – In Space! It’ll be great.

I knew you would be looking forward to it. I hope it exceeds your expectations, if that is at all possible. 🙂

  2. Also starting to run out of things to say about Rocket Raccoon. Apart from last month’s “I Am Groot” issue, they’re all enjoyable for the exact same reason. Unless something special happens I probably won’t be doing full reviews of too many more of them.

Anyway, My pull list is bigger than normal next week, with the Uncanny X-Men Annual the one I’m looking forward to the most, with Amazing Spider-Man 11 being a close second. Also getting TMNT 41, Amazing X-Men 14, The Logan Legacy 6 (Mystique), Scarlet Spiders 2, Thor 3, Bitch Planet 1, Death Vigil 6, Batgirl 37, Batman 37 and Justice League United 7. I’m considering the Guardians of the Galaxy Annual also. With so many comics on my list, I might not read all of them before my weekly first impressions post.

So true. I hate sounding like a broken record every time but I look forward to it immensely every time it sees release. I guess that is a good problem to have. 🙂

I am so behind on my reading that it is becoming almost insurmountable. Luckily I have a 10 day holiday coming up around Christmas which should help alleviate the backlog.

Thanks for sharing your pull-list and have an awesome New Comic Book Day!
