Between The Continuity – February Blues

Icon

I ended the last edition of Between The Continuity with the following line: “The new schedule takes into effect and I’m crossing my fingers I escape the week relatively on time and unscathed.” Well that did not go as planned…

Overall, February has been a pretty lousy month. People at work are tense, getting on one another’s nerves. We have a new employee that is rubbing everyone else the wrong way but he is the proverbial “chosen one” from head office so what our store feels doesn’t really matter. Business is slow which has got a good deal of people across the company cutting corners and potentially turning on one another. Not to mention the constant upheaval of the showroom which causes a lot of heavy work that has left me exhausted each day. What’s worse than moving a lot of large, cumbersome objects? Doing it and then having to strike up a conversation with a customer and trying to sell them something.

Now that I’ve got that off my chest, I want to hunker down and refocus. As I have said on numerous occasions this blog is a way for me to decompress and not having the time to properly devote to it has not only made me less happy but has also started February’s stats off rather poorly. The game plan for this week is to finally catch-up on all my outstanding comments (starting tomorrow) and try to right the ship back straight. By the next edition of this feature, I hope to say “mission accomplished”!

Thanks to everyone for understanding and let’s resume talking about what we all love: COMICS!

  1. I think this time of year can be tough, everywhere is still cold and grey. I’ve been recovering from a chest infection over the last two weeks, so haven’t been very well and not posted much at all. Its just one of those things, sure your work situation will improve soon too. I Wouldn’t get bogged down with stats either, these things fluctuate, everything has a way of evening itself out in the end I find. Well, have a good new comic book day, and enjoy all those awesome new books!

    • I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling well. Hopefully as I write this the road to a full recovery is in sight. Thanks for the words of encouragement and I hope you had an awesome NCBD as well. 🙂

      • Cheers. Yes, I’m on the mend now. Still not 100% but getting there. Thank you, had a great new comic book day, lots of great titles to enjoy this week. Have a good weekend 🙂
