Each week, countless titles see release from all the various comic companies out there. Some will be good, some will be bad, and some will be downright excellent. Of course, we don’t know which will be which but what we do know is which are our most anticipated. With that said, it is time once again to highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

Convergence: Suicide Squad #2
Creative Team
Frank Tieri and Tom Mandrake
Solicitation
“STARRING HEROES FROM ZERO HOUR! Bane and Cyborg Superman join Amanda Waller and her Suicide Squad’s attack on Kingdom Come Green Lantern’s floating fortress of New Oa! And lots and lots and lots of heroes die! This extra-sized issue includes a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the DC Universe!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
One week after the second issues of the two-parters first hit us I noticed a trend: on average the concluding chapters surpassed their initial offerings. That bodes well here as the first issue was all set-up which means this one will be pure payoff. Classic Suicide Squad action is a welcome sight for sure and I can’t wait to see how their latest mission plays out.

Convergence: Supergirl/Matrix #2
Creative Team
Keith Giffen and Timothy Green
Solicitation
“STARRING HEROES FROM ZERO HOUR! Supergirl and Ambush Bug fight against…uh…we don’t really understand what Keith Giffen is doing here, but we trust it’ll work out great! This extra-sized issue includes a sneak peek at what’s coming up in the DC Universe!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Of the Zero Hour Convergence titles, this one was the strongest with its first issue and I have a really good feeling that this trend will continue. It was the perfect blend of comedy and action and with Ambush Bug making his presence felt in the second issue, the humor factor is going to be elevated onto another level.

Ms. Marvel #15
Creative Team
C. Willow Wilson and Takeshi Miyazawa
Solicitation
“True love or true enemy? There’s a reason it’s called a CRUSH. Ms. Marvel faces her most confusing challenge yet!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
I hate sounding like a broken record but everyone owes it to themselves to check this series out. Like action? This series has you covered. Like humor? This series has you covered. Like slice-of-life moments? Yeah, I think you see where I’m going with this.

Silk #4
Creative Team
Robbie Thompson and Stacey Lee
Solicitation
“Silk and Johnny Storm’s first date! Nuff’ said?”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
‘Nuff said indeed!

Thor #8
Creative Team
Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman
Solicitation
“The final battle with the Destroyer! Guest stars galore! A shocking return! And oh yeah…Thor’s secret identity revealed at last!!!”
Why I’m Looking Forward To It
The time has finally arrived! Just who is this new Thor? The answer we’ve been waiting for since the character was first revealed will be learned and you can sure as “hel” believe that who we’re led to believe she is and who she really is will be another matter entirely.

Reid Vanier’s Top Pick
Convergence: Justice League International #2
Creative Team
Ron Marz; Art by Mike Manley
Solicitation
“STARRING HEROES FROM ZERO HOUR! Is it time to say goodbye to Ted Kord and Martian Manhunter forever? It is if the heroes from the Kingdom Come universe have anything to say about it!“
Why He Is Looking Forward To It
Full disclosure: I’m a bit too young to have enjoyed the JLI when they were active. But over the years as I’ve explored deeper and deeper into the history of the DC Universe, they stand out as one of the most unique and enjoyable chapters in the Justice League’s mythos. The JLI blended fun and danger – a potent reaction against the late 80s/early 90s trend of making superhero comics dark and bloody. That’s what makes the JLI’s contest in Convergence so compelling. Kingdom Come, though brilliant and engaging, was undoubtedly one of the most cynical interpretations of superheroes ever published. Pitting the two teams against each other will not only be a clash of powers and abilities, but also worldviews and philosophies on storytelling in general. Additionally, I am still waiting for some real Blue and Gold action.

With that said, the final tally stands at DC Comics (12 Issues), Marvel (8 Issues), and Independent (6 Issues). So that’s my Pull List for the week. What’s yours? What comics are you most looking forward to? Comment below!
I’m back, and have some comics to catch up on. As for next week, it’s looking like a Marvel only week unless comiclist hasn’t fully updated yet. Angela: Asgard’s Assassin 6, Legendary Star-Lord 12, Magneto 18, Ms. Marvel 15, Secret Wars 2, Thor 8 and Wolverines 18. My most anticipated is between Thor 8, Ms. Marvel 15 and Wolverines 18. Marvel and Thor for the same reasons, and Wolverines 18 because the series is almost over and so far, the Mr. Sinister conclusion is intense (yeah, I read issue 16 and 17 before writing this comment)
I ended up picking Captain Marvel up this week and loved it. I’ll be sure to add the series to my pull-list when it returns from Secret Wars, that is if DeConnick is still onboard. Because of you and xmenxpert, you have a newly converted fan. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it.
Angela, Mighty Avengers, Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, My Little Pony, Silk and Spider-Man 2099. A heavier week for me.
