May 17th, 2015. It is a day that will live in infamy here on the Speech Bubble. On that day I posted my look back at the entire Uncanny X-Men comics series, choosing my favourite cover from each decade. Realizing that this would be a popular topic, I also shared the feature on Reddit, a decision that paid off big. Not only did I set a new single day record but I garnered enough views during that one day which normally would take me an entire half a month to do so. Whether the month captures first place overall at its conclusion is undecided but 2nd Place is indeed within grasp.
I’ve also been quite busy lately and expect to continue being extremely busy for the rest of the week. I’ve been aiding two of my fellow co-workers in setting up a website and Facebook page for their staging and redesign business they are establishing. It’s been quite a task as alongside the fact they are both computer illiterate, they change their minds constantly. The good news is they finally settled on a business card design which I created and their website is almost 100% done. Next up: educating them in the wonders of Facebook. Their first challenge? Logging in… Trust me, it’s more difficult for them then you could possibly imagine. 🙂
The news I’m proudest to reveal is in terms of myself and my local comic shop. The owner gave the go-ahead to work with me in establishing an online presence for his store, something I was truly hoping for as I really didn’t want to strike out on my own. We’re going to nail down the details later on this week and then I’ll be ready to create the store and manually enter all the product for the August solicitations. For the first few months, we’re going to strictly focus on pre-orders only, wanting to avoid buying extra inventory at the moment. It is going to be a herculean task to get the word out and strategic advertising via print, digital, and possibly videos is key. I’m going to begin with spreading the word through my neighboring cities and then I will expand to include the rest of my province (British Columbia) with the end goal to be the premiere comic website of Western Canada. More news will most assuredly follow!

We finally got our first look at the Supergirl trailer and in tribute to her both the Comic Art Showcase and the Cosplay Runway this week will feature the character. Also, next week on Between The Continuity, I’ll reveal some more details about the new online comic store I’m working on. Got to start the promotion as soon as possible.

On that note, this week’s offering of Between The Continuity has reached its end. I hope everyone has an excellent week and manages to read some great stuff. Until next time, I leave you with three words that sum up this blog and life in general:
Sounds exciting!
Indeed! Here’s to the future! 🙂
