On The Radar: Comic Book Coming Attractions 05/27/15

Each week, countless titles see release from all the various comic companies out there. Some will be good, some will be bad, and some will be downright excellent. Of course, we don’t know which will be which but what we do know is which are our most anticipated. With that said, it is time once again to highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

Why I’m Looking Forward To It
The first two issues have been both well written and gorgeous in terms of art. I’m fairly confident that the third issue will be more of the same aforementioned awesomeness.

Why I’m Looking Forward To It
Those last two months sure flew by. Now the time has come to bid adieu to the Convergence event as we all await with bated breath to see how the event will end. Will only one reality survive or will multiple ones either merge or be reintegrated back to their home realities? I eagerly await the answer!

NEW SERIES ALERT! I loved the original Old Man Logan series and a big part was owed to the combination of the original creative team. With Bendis and Sorrentino at the helm, we know this world is in mighty good hands indeed.

Why He Is Looking Forward To It
When Convergence was first announced, I admit that I was among the cynical. The two month event made no secret about being the stop-gap in the publishing line while DC Comics moved from its New York office to one in Burbank, but even at that, the very premise felt, to me, like the worst sort of fan-pandering. Remember all these fun things that don’t exist anymore? Well maybe they do! And while there has been a certain degree of that kind of nostalgia-peddling, Convergence has turned out to be a rather interesting event. The main title has been especially strong, and despite the relative inconsequence of the tie-ins, the event may actually have some weight in the course of the DCU. It’s all been building to this final issue, and I am quite happy to have some egg on my face as I look forward to what I expect to be a dynamic finish.
