In #Trending, Sam will highlight and offer his opinions on any comic-related news that occurred during the week. This will included news about comic books, comic-related movies, TV shows, video games, etc. including sharing any hot trailers that were released.Let’s begin:
This past week, the pilot of the upcoming Supergirl series was leaked online. Many have claimed this to be a ploy by CBS, backing their claim with the leak of the Flash, last year.
Lots and lots more photos from the set of Captain America: Civil War have emerged online this week. Robert Downey Jr arrived, so did Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and more. Jeremy Renner even posted a photo of the new logo for the film. Filming continues in Atlanta, however without Frank Grillo, as he announced that he has wrapped up his parts as Crossbones already.
Following the beginning of filming last week, the set of Suicide Squad continued in Toronto with many, many photos coming online. It would appear Jared Leto’s Joker is in fact keeping the tattoos. What are your thoughts on that?
Ever since the announcement that Michael B. Jordan was to play Johnny Storm to Kate Mara’s Sue Storm, the internet blew up with controversy of his casting. This week Jordan addressed those who are/were against his role. You can check out the article HERE.
1) Good Guy Deadpool: The set of Deadpool had a special visitor this week in the form of young Tony Acevedo, who toured the set in Vancouver. Ryan Reynolds posted to Instagram his meeting with the young fan from the Make a Wish Foundation, wishing him the best in his fight against Hodgkin’s Disease.
2)Flash update: Phil Lord has given a quick update on the progress of the upcoming Flash movie in a recent interview as well as saying a bit about the animated Spider-Man movie in early development. “We’re trying to break a story,” says Lord. “It’s interesting, because there’s a really popular TV show out there, and we’re trying to carve out space for the movie that’s apart from that. I think we’re doing alright. …I believe [our Flash] is going to be Barry Allen. …We’re more trying to stick with the cinematic universe… it really is its own thing and is kind of a stand-alone movie. We’re just trying to think of the best story. I think you guys will like it, it’s kind of a different take on superhero stuff. I’m optimistic!” You can watch the full interview here:
3) On the set of Preacher: More photos from the filming of Preacher have emerged. Check them out.
4)Beast and Mystique reporting for duty: Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence have arrived on set for X-Men: Apocalypse with an inaugural selfie.
So much on-set news.
I’m trying to avoid watching the leak, but it’s tempting.
