On The Radar: Comic Book Coming Attractions 06/03/15

Radar Each week, countless titles see release from all the various comic companies out there. Some will be good, some will be bad, and some will be downright excellent. Of course, we don’t know which will be which but what we do know is which are our most anticipated. With that said, it is time once again to highlight the upcoming comics that I’m looking forward to the most, the ones that are On My Radar:

Why He Is Looking Forward To It
Geoff Johns is a bit of a figure of controversy. Widely regarded as one of the best writers at DC Comics, he is simultaneous accused – rather frequently – of missing the mark. As with all things, it’s a matter of opinion, but from my perspective, Johns is a master of events of the largest scale, tending to falter more when the action and stakes are more subtle. Luckily, “Darkseid War” looks to play to his strengths. With the Justice League caught between Darkseid and the Anti-Monitor, this arc has the potential to be as cosmically shattering as Blackest Night or Flashpoint – both of which were originally pitched simply as single-title events. The teases and glimpses we have received so far show lots of potential new ground in the mythologies of the New Gods, the Anti-Monitor himself, and the Amazons, whose connection to the cosmic battle will be intriguing to see play out. A battle between the most powerful bad guys in the universe with Wonder Woman playing a central role? Sign me up.

  1. I wasn’t feeling all that adventurous on Wednesday because I’m fighting the worst cough I remember having, so I didn’t pick up Groot 1. How was it?
