Between The Continuity – Stepping Out From Behind The Keyboard

Yes, you are seeing things correctly! GothamRogue has returned to the Speech Bubble at last!

First of all, I want to thank Reid Vanier for almost singlehandedly keeping this blog on life support with his awesome Vanier Report reviews. They are a highlight for me week after week and I always look forward to them arriving in my inbox. Secondly, Sam has done a terrific job with the #Trending feature but sadly doesn’t have the time in his life anymore to keep it coming on a consistent basis. With his retirement, I’m also going to put the feature out to pasture unless anyone reading this would like to take the reins. Once things have settled back into a more steady rhythm, I’m going to put out another call to arms to see if we can add anyone else to the team.

Speaking of things getting back to normal, the regular features will be gradually coming back with a slow roll-out. Adding the items to the new online store has been getting quicker and quicker and I hope that the October solicitations when available will go even smoother. You can check everything out so far at www.hourglasscomicsonline.com and remember to LIKE us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/hourglasscomicsonline. I’ve also shot the first of many commercials to come for the store and you can view it below:

Now onto the future. First up, I’m happy to announce that healed1337 has crafted another fine Character Spotlight post featuring X-23 which I will be putting up later on in the week. wwayne’s Retroactive will also return next week to round out what is coming from everyone else. As for me, my first priority is getting the Comic-Verse back up and running. I’m going to do one or two mega editions to catch everyone up on any terrific postings you may have missed since the last edition on June 10th. On the Radar will also be resurfacing later on this week to be joined by a new edition of the Cosplay Runway.

In other avenues, I’m going to be bolstering up my content on the Hourglass Comics Online Facebook page and am toying with the idea of creating a Twitter for the site as well. I’m also putting a call out there to any fellow Canadians that follow this blog, especially those residing in Western Canada. If you want to save money, get free comics, and have the chance to win monthly prizes, you owe it to yourselves to check out and register at www.hourglasscomicsonline.com. Specifically for my readers, I’m offering a special promotion where if you use the code SPEECHBUBBLE at checkout you will get $10 OFF any order $30 or over! As for everyone else that do not live in Canada, we are open on a case by case basis to work with you. If you are at all interested, send me an e-mail at hourglasscomicsonline@gmail.com.

The next phase of the Speech Bubble and Hourglass Comics Online begins now!

On that note, this week’s offering of Between The Continuity has reached its end. I hope everyone has an excellent week and manages to read some great stuff. Until next time, I leave you with three words that sum up this blog and life in general:

To-be-continued

  1. Welcome back. I’ll have to watch the commercial after I finish work.

Also, when you do post my character spotlight, I would appreciate it if you switch the opening image with the cover they recently released for All-New Wolverine 1 and mention that I wrote the post before they announced the series. Other than that, just keep it the same.

I still plan to do a Witchblade character spotlight at sometime, but I’ll probably save it for around the time the series ends. They just announced that issue 185 will be the final issue so that feels like an appropriate time to spotlight the series.

  2. I’m really, really glad that you came back to us. Of course having the chance to see you in that video was very exciting as well. Also, adding Happy as the soundtrack of your spot was such a brilliant idea! I couldn’t have chosen a more appropriate song myself. I wish you all the best for your new business! 🙂
