Between The Continuity – Discussing May & June 2015

Last week I mentioned that I would be taking a look back at the previous two months on the Speech Bubble and as promised here we are. It was really a tale of two completely opposite months. On one hand I had May 2015 which was my 2nd best month ever whereas June 2015 was my worst month in the past year. A big reason for that is that a lot of my focus during June and almost this entire month was devoted to www.hourglasscomicsonline.com as is evident by 29 postings in May compared to a mere 11 in June. Without further ado, let’s have the breakdown:

MAY 2015

My Top 12 articles for the month in terms of total views were as follows:

#1: Retroactive Special Edition: Uncanny X-Men Through The Decades
#2: Happy Mother’s Day To All Those Super-Moms Out There!
#3: The Character Spotlight – Issue #6: Star-Lord (Peter Quill)
#4: The Cosplay Runway 05/22/15 (All Supergirl Edition)
#5: Lost Voice: How The Canary Lost Her Cry
#6: Retroactive: The Flash 2007 & Uncanny X-Men 2014
#7: The Cosplay Runway 05/08/15
#8: Retroactive: The Flash 2006 & Uncanny X-Men 2013
#9: The Character Spotlight – Issue #8: Agent 13 (Sharon Carter)
#10: The Cosplay Runway 05/16/15
#11: Retroactive: The Flash Debuts & Uncanny X-Men 1963
#12: The Vanier Report: Tales From A DC Pull List (Batman #40 Review)

It was quite an interesting month as half of my Top 12 consisted of features that were not originally published in May. I was most shocked by the reception of Uncanny X-Men Through The Decades as it helped establish my all-time recording breaking single day record. Another surprise was my old Mother’s Day post which really raked in the views. The ever so reliable Character Spotlight of Star-Lord reared its head yet again and my well received Black Canary piece continued to chug along backed by three editions of the Cosplay Runway.

In other areas my Top 5 referrers were Reddit, The Old Reader, Arousing Grammar, Twitter, and Wordpress Reader. Finally, My Top 5 Search Terms were “star lord”, “everyday is mom day”, “marvel sharon carter”, “super mom mother day images”, and “comics moms day.” And that is May in summation!

JUNE 2015

My Top 12 articles for the month in terms of total views were as follows:

#1: The Cosplay Runway 06/13/15
#2: Lost Voice: How The Canary Lost Her Cry
#3: What Is The Artifice & Why Should You Care?
#4: The Character Spotlight – Issue #6: Star-Lord (Peter Quill)
#5: The Comic-Verse – Super-Sized Two Week Edition: Awesome Art & The Top 30 Featured Links (05/28/15-06/10/15)
#6: The Character Spotlight – Issue #9: Deathstroke (Slade Wilson)
#7: The Vanier Report: Tales From A DC Pull List (Justice League #41 Review)
#8: The Vanier Report: Tales From A DC Pull List (Earth 2: Society #1 Review)
#9: Between The Continuity – “Where Have You Been GothamRogue?”
#10: The Character Spotlight – Issue #8: Agent 13 (Sharon Carter)
#11: The Vanier Report: Tales From A DC Pull List (Flash #41 Review)
#12:
#Trending In The World Of Comics 06/15/15: (A Legend Passes, A Daring Casting, Videos, & Other News!)

The less said about this month the better. It would have been for an even more disastrous month if it wasn’t for the combination of the Vanier Reports and the tandem of Star-Lord and Black Canary yet again. On a side note, am I the only one that really doesn’t like WordPress’ new statistic format? I miss my all-time stats option and the monthly breakdown by year…

In other areas my Top 5 referrers were Twitter, Arousing Grammar, The Old Reader, Modern Mythologies, and Wordpress Reader. Finally, My Top 5 Search Terms were “how did diana lance get raped”, “black canary rape”, “spot light”, “action comics #40”, and “the speech bubble.” And that is June in summation!

In other news, I’m happy to have caught up on my Comic-Verse postings, reading everyone’s amazing features. It definitely took my a lot longer than anticipated which caused my other plans to be derailed. With that said, the X-23 Spotlight posting should be up before month’s end, the Comic Art Showcase will return this week alongside On The Radar and a new edition of the Cosplay Runway. Bit by bit, everything will slowly be coming back plus more. Thanks for the patience!
