In Summation
Uncanny X-Men keeps impressing me and causes the series to climb a Rank and seize 9th place. The much hyped debut of Angela in Guardians of the Galaxy was alright but the quality of the issue overall enables it to climb a single Spot. The true star of the Week however was Venom which produced an absolutely fantastic last issue that helps the series soar up 2 Ranks and inch ever closer to breaking into the Top 15.

  1. These are the comic books I read in August 2014:

    X # 15
    The Trial of the Punisher # 1 – 2
    Thunderbolts # 15 – 19
Terminator: Enemy of my enemy # 4
    Batman Eternal # 5
    Batman Eternal # 13
    Smallville Season 11: Lantern # 3
    The New 52 – Futures End # 8
Red Hood and the Outlaws # 25
    Teen Titans # 25
    Superboy # 25
    Swamp Thing # 25
    The Phantom Stranger # 13
    Animal Man # 24 – 25
    Spider – Man # 13 – 14
    Green Arrow # 34
    The Punisher # 9
    Hawkeye # 19
    Batman Eternal # 17
    Superman/Wonder Woman # 11
    Imperial # 1

Animal Man # 24 is the best read of the month.
Imperial # 1 got very close to the gold medal: if you didn’t read it, I do suggest you to buy it.
Bronze medal for the 2 Spider – issues written and drawn by the genius called Todd McFarlane.
Last month has been very weak for me as a blogger until the 23rd of August… then on that day I published a new post, and from that moment my blog simply exploded. I got over 100 visits almost every single day. I don’t know why that post became so successful, it’s just a review of a novel many people do not even know here in Italy (“Summerland” by Elin Hilderbrand). Thanks to this boom in the last days of the month, August 2014 has become my best month ever as a blogger (2290 visits and 981 visitors). Also, now I’m only 5 followers far from the goal of 1.000 follows.
As for you, I already know that August was an awesome month for your blog, and of course I’m very happy of it. Was a good month for you as a reader as well?

    • “Hawkeye # 19”
So what is the verdict? You said you were thinking of dropping it. Sticking around to the very end since it is so close? Did you enjoy this issue?

“Imperial # 1 got very close to the gold medal: if you didn’t read it, I do suggest you to buy it.”
Wow! What made this issue so awesome?

“I don’t know why that post became so successful, it’s just a review of a novel many people do not even know here in Italy (“Summerland” by Elin Hilderbrand).”
You tapped into that book’s small but passionate fan-base. If not many others were reviewing it, your feature acted as an outlet for them. Just my thoughts.

“Thanks to this boom in the last days of the month, August 2014 has become my best month ever as a blogger (2290 visits and 981 visitors).”
Congratulations! Your numbers keep going up, up, and away! 🙂

“As for you, I already know that August was an awesome month for your blog, and of course I’m very happy of it. Was a good month for you as a reader as well?”
It is always a good month as a reader with such quality titles coming out from DC, Marvel, and the Independents. I’m hoping to keep the forward momentum in regards to my blog going though I’ll be mighty high-pressed to match last month’s record-breaking numbers…

      • “So what is the verdict? You said you were thinking of dropping it. Sticking around to the very end since it is so close? Did you enjoy this issue?” I’ll go on buying Hawkeye until it ends, but I didn’t issue # 19 very much. I can’t help thinking how great the first 7 issues were, and how this series sank deeper and deeper each month from the 8th issue on in regards to quality.
“Wow! What made this issue so awesome?” Its delightful and clever irony.
“You tapped into that book’s small but passionate fan-base. If not many others were reviewing it, your feature acted as an outlet for them. Just my thoughts.” I hadn’t thought about it! Your theory is great.
“I’m hoping to keep the forward momentum in regards to my blog going though I’ll be mighty high-pressed to match last month’s record-breaking numbers…” I’m in the same situation. Let’s hope both our blogs will go on increasing their numbers this month as well! : )
