In Summation
Everything is pretty quite here except for the phenomenal last issue of Uncanny X-Men and the highly enjoyable last issue of Young Avengers which sees each title leap up a Spot. Uncanny X-Men finally breaking into the Top 10 was long overdue and if Young Avengers keeps producing issues like the last two, the Top 10 will soon be in its grasp as well.

  1. These are the comic books I read in March 2014:

    Superman/Wonder Woman # 5
    The Punisher # 1
    X – Force # 1
    Diabolik # 237
    The Punisher # 2
    Justice League of America’s Vibe # 3
Superior Foes of Spider – Man # 1
    Swamp Thing # 22 – 23
    Animal Man # 22
    Superman/Wonder Woman # 6
    The Punisher # 3
    Witchblade # 173
    Hawkeye # 15
Terminator: Enemy of my enemy # 1
    Daredevil # 29
    Thunderbolts # 12 – 13
Breaking into Comics the Marvel Way! # 1 (only “Let Sleeping Devil Lie”)
    Marvel Fanfare # 19
    Uncanny X – Men # 170 – 175

The Punisher # 1 is the best read of the month (issues # 2 and # 3 were great as well); Marvel Fanfare # 19 wins the second prize, and Witchblade # 173 gets the third one.
Superior Foes of Spider – Man # 1 got very, very close to the bronze medal. I bought it solely because of your enthusiasm about this title, and I think it was a great purchase.
Vibe # 3, Swamp Thing # 22 – 23 and Thunderbolts # 12 are three other comics that would have won a medal with ease in any other month. It’s been a month full of good reads.
As for UXM # 170 – 175, Paul Bowler talked about the 80s stories of the X – Men in such a passionate way that he made me want to read them. A long time ago I had bought some of them at a convention, so I took those 30 years old issues from my shelves and read some of them. Well, I wholeheartedly thank Paul Bowler, because thanks to him I bumped into some incredibly good stories. I’m not an X – fan, so I didn’t enjoy them as much as I enjoy Daredevil or Witchblade, for example, but those old X – stories definitely are high quality comics, and they brilliantly stood the test of time.
Also, last month I went to the Florence Korea Film Festival, and I watched an incredibly well made thriller movie. It is so great that, after seeing it, I went on thinking about it for days. The english title of this korean movie is “Montage”: I do suggest you to watch it if you can get it somehow.
March 2014 was a good month for me not only as a comics and movies fan, but also as a blogger: it’s been the month with most visits (1695), visitors (596) and new followers (108) ever. As I had already told you, I think that these records are entirely due to the “Italian Oscar Effect”, but who cares? : )
What about you? Was March a good month for you as a reader and as a blogger?

    • “The Punisher # 1 is the best read of the month (issues # 2 and # 3 were great as well); Marvel Fanfare # 19 wins the second prize, and Witchblade # 173 gets the third one.”
The Punisher has been great so far. As for Marvel Fanfare, I’ve never heard of it. Is it a really old title?

“Superior Foes of Spider – Man # 1 got very, very close to the bronze medal. I bought it solely because of your enthusiasm about this title, and I think it was a great purchase.”
Excellent. I’m happy to see we are on the same page. I absolutely love those baddies and I’m glad you took the chance on my word alone. 🙂

I’ll have to try and track those down myself.

“Also, last month I went to the Florence Korea Film Festival, and I watched an incredibly well made thriller movie.”
What’s the basic premise? I think I’ll have a hard time tracking it down regardless…

“Was March a good month for you as a reader and as a blogger?”
First of all, congratulations on the HUGE month. For me, March was my best month of the year and my 5th best month ever. Hopefully both of our good fortunes continue and grow!

      • “As for Marvel Fanfare, I’ve never heard of it. Is it a really old title?” Yes. The issue I read has been published in 1985. Speaking of awesome comics, today I read Batman: Earth One, and I was shocked by its remarkable beauty. I do suggest you to read it too if you haven’t.
“What’s the basic premise?” The movie is about a kidnapped girl. It’s been released in 2013, and the director is Chung Keun – Sup.
“Hopefully both of our good fortunes continue and grow!” I do hope so too! : ) Congrats to you as well! : )
